Gr.4-8- Carolyn Lebo,long-time art teacher, narrates the story of the life of 17th century Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn while visuals focus on his masterpieces. The focus is on three of his techniques: the use of light and shadow ,creating interesting portraits, and etching/print making. After providing a close-up look at his life and works, Lebo guides viewers through three hands -on projects related to the techniques discussed in the introduction. In the first lesson “ Creating that Special Light” students use bleach to create “just the light”. “ Learning to Draw a Group Portrait” relates to Rembrandt’s “ The Night Watch” and has students use faces cut from other sources to create a group portrait of friends or family members. In “learning the Etching Process”, viewers learn how to etch with crayons. Lebo demonstrates each art activity step by step while describing its relevance to Rembrandt’s works.
An excellent addition to any school or Home Library Collection.

CALIFORNIA HOMESCHOOL EDUCATORS ASSOC.
Carolyn will be presenting two very interesting, worthwhile workshops. They are both “hands on”, relaxing, fun and what every parent educator needs to know!
1. FUN WITH RIGHT BRAIN DRAWING
This class will help you “develop” and “teach” the perceptual skills necessary for drawing with ability and confidence by learning to use the spatial, global and nonverbal “right brain”. You WILL learn to draw and see things in a new and special way!
2. A BRAND NEW CLASS!
Encouraging Creativity in ALL your children.
The creative process has fascinated researchers and educators for many years. Most of what has been written about creativity is speculative or intended to stimulate research. In this class we will focus on specific skills that can be used for all age children that increase their ability to “go beyond”; think outside the box and get that “ah-hah” feeling!
To learn to use your Right Brain and learn to “jump start” your creativity are two incredibly great gifts to give your children!
